Vicar and wife of St. Peter’s Igbo Church
The Reverend Canon Linus Amonu is the Vicar of St. Peter’s Igbo Church, Hamilton, Diocese of New Jersey. He has been serving in this capacity for twenty-three years. He was ordained a Deacon on December 7, 1997 and a Priest on July 10, 1999. Under Amonu’s pastoral leadership and ministry, the Church has grown from a 5-family membership to an over 200-person membership, who are mainly African immigrants from Nigeria.
On July 17, 2010, Amonu was collated a Canon of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Owerrinta, Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South, Church of Nigeria.
The Reverend Canon Amonu holds a Diploma in Theology, Advanced Diploma in Biblical Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
The Reverend Canon Linus Amonu and his wife, Ugochi Amonu, live in Ewing, New Jersey, with their four children.
